West African Football Academy (WAFA) Sporting Club attacker , Komlan Agbeniadan, made his Nation’s Cup debut for Togo in their opening group game against The Elephants of Ivory Coast. The Sogakope based goal poacher came on as a late replacement for Matheu Dossevi in the group’s opening game at the ongoing Nations cup.
Komlan Agbeniadan , who terrorized defenders in the Ghanaian local championship, was tipped to play a pivotal role for the Sparrow Hawks of Togo after a blistering debut season with WAFA SC. The beast, as he is known domestically, however could not overpower the scary Elephants that chose to shoot either high or wide.
The border based forward replaced Dossevi with three minutes left on the clock but might just have done enough to earn a starting berth in the next group game. Komlan led WAFA to a respectful sixth place finish at the end of the 2016 season in Ghana, with many top European side on the red alert for the signature of the stoutly built Togolese.
Togo held their own against the much dreaded Elephants Ivory Coast in a 0-0 stalemate in the group C clash.
