Cameroon’s talented midfielder, Christian Bassogog, has reiterated the need to avenge their 1-0 loss at the hand of Egypt in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations staged that was hosted by Ghana.
The Indomitable Lions booked a spot in Sunday’s final when they defeated Ghana by 2-0 in Thursday’s semi-final.
The 21-year-old who won the Man of the Match in yesterday’s encounter, highlighted their preparedness towards Sunday’s final as the yearn to lift their fifth continental trophy.
“I’m very happy and it is just a happy moment for me and the team.
“This is my first Africa Cup of Nations and for most of my colleagues too, and we are in the final, something which does not happen often.
“It gives me more confidence. I’m happy to score in the semi-finals. It is a good time to score in my first semis at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Now we will prepare for the final and try to reverse what happened in 2008, ” he said in post- match presser.
