Ghana’s deputy captain, Andre Ayew, has expressed his disappointment after the Black Stars failed in their quest to end the 35-year trophy-less drought, but insists Cameroon deserve to be in the finals of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Stars of Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Cameroon in the semi finals of the 2017 AFCON.
According to the West Ham player, the Black Stars lacked the zeal and further expressed his disappointed to miss out on the trophy once again.
“I am very disappointed, we did not play our game, we did not do what we needed to do, to be honest Cameroon deserved the win. We will wait for next two years,” he told the press.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will face the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the third-place play-off at the Stade De Port Gentil on Saturday, 4 February, 2017.
