Kumasi Asante Kotoko Operations Director Ernest Owusu Ansah has asked the leadership of the Ghana football Association to review the sponsorship package given to the premier league teams.
Startimes announced that, the week two game between Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko will be televised.
Kotoko had their first game shown live on Television when they played against Liberty professionals and won 2-1
According to the operations director, when matches are shown live on TV, it reduces the attendance of fans who troop to the stadiums to watch matches, which affects gate proceeds.
He therefore wants increment of monies given to teams which will have most of their matches shown live on TV.
“I think the Startimes Sponsorship Package should be reviewed. If you realise there are about Ten local TV stations which will show the games live.
“Live matches automatically affects gate proceeds of teams whose matches are always shown on TV.
“If they are going to continue with live telecast with Ten TV stations, then I think the monies given to the teams should be increased.”He told Sportscrusader.com
