GOC Boss Lauds Ghana’s Eagles

President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has commended Ghana’s national Rugby team(Eagles) for their impressive outing against Benin in the Rugby Africa Regional Challenge Group West 1 tournament played at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.

The Eagles kicked started the campaign in style when they overpowered their arch-rivals 46 points to 5 in a match that demonstrated how the national team has improved
in recent times.

In an interview with the media after the match, Mr. Nunoo Mensah expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the Eagles and was thrilled with the talent in the team,
as there was room for improvement.

“Very impressive, It was a good game, I was expecting Ghana to win and they over did it, this is the first time I have a full rugby match and I commend Herbert Mensah
and his guys for bring the whole Africa here.

“We hoping more sponsors will come on board and support the Rugby because there are numerous talents. God has blessed this country but we don’t have enough resources to identify this talent and I know Rugby has a bright future, ” he said.

Ghana Eagles will face off against a much organised and strong Togo team on Saturday in the last round match of the tournament.
