Sekondi Hasaacas veteran goalkeeper, George Owu has doubts over referee Awal Mohammed’s decision to award Kumasi Asante Kotoko a late penalty during their match week 26 encounter.
Hasaacas took the lead through Samuel Afful who beautifully lobbed the ball over the on-rushing goalkeeper, Felix Annan but with less than 10 minutes to end the game, Kotoko equalised through a late Amos Frimpong goal.
Former Kotoko goalie, Owu, who was booked for indiscipline after yelling at referee Awal, mentioned in a post-match rant that his team was treated unfairly as the ball hit his player on the hand and not an intentional foul.
“It was a good game between two equally matched opponents but the referee ruined it with his penalty decision. We have had penalty decisions gone against us both at home and away, it appears we’re being used as scapegoats and it is not a pleasant situation to be in.
“With just a couple of minutes to end the game, it just was not as it stands only God can save us from the jaws of relegation.”
Hasaacas, with the points dropped, remain in 14th place on 29 points with an outstanding game against Medeama SC.
