Retired Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston has called on the Ghanaian tacticians to develop enough confidence if they are to manage the elite Nation’s in the continent. The former Ghana international hailed the tactical creativity of our local coaches but urged them to stay strong if their voices are to be heard.
The former Black Stars winger did not mince words in defining the soft nature of Ghanaian coaches and was emphatic in his preference for white coaches. The then dreadlocks defenders nightmare pleaded with the home base coaches to develop strong attitude and charisma when given the nod at the National level.
Speaking on the Legends corner on Soccer Chat, Laryea Kingston highlighted the loose nature of the home based tacticians anytime they are appointed as national team handlers.
“The Local coaches are not bad as people think but just that they lack the confidence when dealing with certain players.
“The lack of confidence or Courage makes it very difficult for them to handle some issues with the players.
“I believe the local coaches can handle the National team if they handle the egos of players”, Laryea Kingston revealed on Soccer Chat.
The Black Stars have enjoyed enormous success under local coaches with all four of their Nation’s Cup coming from black coaches of Ghanaian decent. The nation’s flagship team has since enjoyed some stellar outings in recent years despite missing out on that elusive trophy on the continent.
