Manchester United are routinely linked with some of the best footballers in the world and this has only gone up a notch since they signed Paul Pogba for a transfer record fee.
On Wednesday, Duncan Castles has reported that Manchester United remain hopeful of signing Brazilian superstar Neymar for 180 million pounds.
It goes without saying that this would be the new world record transfer fee and would be an enormous deal to push through.
The Brazilian signed a new deal with Barcelona just last summer but according to Castles, there is “a long standing conflict between the player and his club”.
And, that Neymar’s release clause has barely changed for the first year of his new deal, which means there would be a time pressure on United to make the signing next summer.
Castles also suggests that Neymar wants to be the dominant player at his team and this is not the case with Leo Messi at Barcelona.
If Manchester United were to move for Neymar, they would face competition from PSG and Real Madrid.
Whilst at Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho extensively scouted Neymar, who was then at Santos.
Ultimately, this piece from Castles feels like a feeler ahead of the new year.
Perhaps Barcelona are considering selling one of the MSN, and this type of article could pique their interest.
