Match Report: Dwarfs 3-1 Inter Allies

Ebusua Dwarfs recorded their first victory of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season when they hosted Inter Allies on Match Week Six.
Two first half goals from Nicholas Gyan and Samuel Quayson, was deficited by Gockel Ahortor’s stunner from about 25 yards, but Bright Lukman’s cushion in the second half was enough to end the ‘Abontobontoa’ Boys fruitless run this year.
J.E Sarpong made two changes to his side that started in their outstanding league loss to Medeama SC, replacing Iddrisu and Lukman with Ackon and Esso respectively.
His opposite number, Herbert Addo replaced Isaac Twum and Kingsley Nnamdi with Joseph Nettey and Uriah Kporvi.
Ebusua Dwarfs began the game on the front foot, and their early dominance paid off after five minutes. Nicholas Gyan nodded home beyond Kwame Baah after he failed to get full control of volley from Romeo Abban.
It was an early wake up call Inter Allies accepted, and took control of proceedings, but the pitch was too bumpy, making ball control difficult.
The pendulum swung in favour of Dwarfs and they took advantage again. Samuel Quayson hammered home a beauty from the right side the pitch after Wahab Akwei was adjudged to have brought down Esso.
Five minutes later, Gockel Ahortor pile driver from 25-yards reduced the scoreline – his second successive goal from a direct free-kick in two league games.
Inter Allies kept pushing to draw parity before recess, but Dwards remained and saw off the first with a goal advantage. The second half was not short of zeal from Inter Allies.
They were however undone by substitute, Bright Lukman. The former Zone 2 golden boot winner took advantage of Abass mistimed kick, and lobbed the ball beyond the reach of helpless Kwame Baah — regaining their 2-0 lead.
Inter Allies huffed and puffed, but Dwarfs held on to win their first game of the 2015/16 season.
