Liberty Professionals captain Samuel Sarfo was not happy with officiating when they played Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League.
Liberty Professionals lost by two goals to one after taking the lead in the first half.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko equalised in the early stages of the second half when Referee Latif Adaari awarded a soft penalty to the hosts when Emmanuel Gyamfi was brought down in the box.
Kotoko eventually had a second goal few minutes after the equaliser through Yakubu Mohammed
But Samuel Sarfo believes the penalty awarded to Kotoko turned the game around which led to their loss.
“The assistant line 2 was supposed to react first before the penalty was given because he was closer to the incident but the referee gave a cheap penalty to Kotoko.”
“I angrily went to the referee and told him he could have done better.”
“This same referee made a similar mistake when we played Inter Allies last season so it was obvious that the referees helped Kotoko win the game.”Sarfo told the press after the game.
