The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is in the process of prosecuting the above mentioned Clubs in the Brong Ahafo Region for failing to pay SSNIT contributions on behalf of their players.
The National Pensions Act 2008 (Act 766) states that
The employer ( club owner ) is under strict obligations to register all workers (management members, technical team and the entire playing body) whether Casuals or Labourers , Contract or Permanent workers, deduct contributions and pay to Ssnit on their behalf.
The Sunyani Branch of Ssnit were to see to Registration of the three (3) Clubs in the Brong Ahafo Region in 2016
But the club owners played hide and seek with the ssnit officials in the Region until 2016 came to an end.
It will be recalled that in July 2015, SSNIT sent Ashgold f c to court for a similar case.
Since then, Ashanti Gold f. C, Accra Hearts of Oak, Inter Allies, Liberty Professionals, Hearts of Lions and Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been complying to the law.
In fact , Asante Kotoko has even gone to the extend of registering their Kotoko Express separately and are doing very well in terms of payment for their team and and the Kotoko Express workers.
