Head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs, Joseph E. Sarpong says his side’s victory over Inter Allies is a sign good things to come for the club this season’
The Abonto Abontoa boys recorded their first win in the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL) when they hosted and beat Tema-based club, Inter Allies 3-1 at Cape Coast on Saturday.
And Coach Sarpong who earlier in the season, threatened to ‘advice’ himself after only two matches in the season reckons their first win is a good sign for the team.
He also explained why the team went through a bad run, but believes they are ready to show the country that their performance in the Division One League last season was no fluke.
“We entered this game with the tag ‘underdogs’ looking at our position on the league log,” the former Great Olympics boss told Super Sport after the game.
“But like I said earlier in the season, we are down with injuries but the players are coming in and we are ready to fight for everything,” he said.
He added: “Tactically we were better than [Inter] Allies” and revealed the motivation behind their performance on the day.
“The motivating factor going into this game was simple. We are champions from Division One and we have to show that our performance from that division was not a fluke so for me, it is the beginning of good things to come for us,” Coach Sarpong noted.
